The recent earthquake in Haiti inflicted devastating casualties. Countless of people lost their lives as buildings crumbled admist mother nature’s devastating fury. In the wake of this terrible disaster, Hollywood celebrities stepped up to the plate in a heroic effort to provide charitable relief. Stars such as Gerard Butler; AnnaLynne McCord, Demi Moore, Marcia Cross, Milla Jovovich, and Penelope Cruz have donated both time and money to the Haiti relief efforts.
Celebrities are using their power, status, and influence to help this cause. Gerard Butler’s charitable efforts have provided charitable relief to hundreds. On January 28 2010, the Scottish actor attended the Artists for Peace and Justice event held at Bergamont Station in Santa Monica California. He also attended the APJ event held over the weekend. The event featured Photographs of Haiti, a silent artwork auction, and music from both a band and DJ. In addition, Gerard Butler answered phone calls in a heroic effort to raise money for charitable relief.
All in all the relief efforts were highly successful. As the years pass, Haiti will always remember the compassionate efforts shown by everyone who helped as they strive to build and progress in to a better and stronger future.
